P4All Breeds Competitiveness In Me

Thu. Nov. 20, 01:23pm EST

Is it bad that i now want to write catchy enough blogs so that i somehow can make it to the "front runners" list?

Kind of silly, but a sense of competitiveness has been fueled by ole' P4ALL. Guess i need another game to fill the void now that the election is over.

Thank goodness for special elections...

You know... the Georgia Senate race news is rather quite here. Might be a good place for you to focus your energetic competitiveness. ;-)

Greg Leuch Thu. Nov. 20, 06:37pm EST#2

erm... quiet, not quite. (its a good thing i'm a designer and not writer!)

Talk about Al Franken and that recount. I can't wait to see the 60 seat dem senate.

Joshua Boulée Thu. Nov. 20, 09:11pm EST#4

I find myself hoping they get it, too, if only to cure people of ever wanting it again. Just like the Republicans running everything, this is going to be very, very bad.

Gillian Myerberg Thu. Nov. 20, 09:19pm EST#5

Yeah cause the country was so bad the 8 years Bill was in office. Please Bush had a surplus when he took office and is now going in the books as the worst and most despised President ever. Even his own father is ashamed of him.

Joshua Boulée Thu. Nov. 20, 09:41pm EST#6

I'm saying that when one party controls everything things usually get bad. The Democrats controlled everything when Bill Clinton got in, but after two years that ended. The republicans controlled everything for 6 years..that was awful. I simply don't trust any party to be in total control, as an advocate for the smallest amount of government possible I like it when the parties can fight each other to a standstill.

Joe Spears Thu. Nov. 20, 09:57pm EST#7

Werd... I actual like "Do-Nothing Congresses" Our government has become one big Rube Goldberg contraption, sometimes funny to watch yet amazing to see it do a simple task.

Gilliam - have you been to George H.W. Bush's house too? If you have not, then please do not repeat "tabloid rumors" (that you accused me of spreading earlier about Gore). I doubt you can point to any source that says President George W. Bush's father is ashamed of him. The difference here is that i'm not going to call you out and whine that you are being offensive with this accusation that is unsubstantiated. "Despised President ever," let's let history decide that, not you. Your hypocrisy completely exposes your bias, and frankly ruins any credibility you may hope to achieve in these discussions.

Gillian Myerberg Thu. Nov. 20, 10:30pm EST#9

Philip, It is Gillian not Gilliam, so get that straight. I actually do have a source for the ashamed comment, but not at liberty to reveal my source. I guess you don't watch the news or if you do it is only Fox News, so you haven't seen the list of the top 5 presidents with the worst approval ratings, and guess who is sitting pretty at #1 with a rating of 77%. This President is a war monger, criminal, who invaded the wrong country all to settle the vendetta for his father. He lead this country on the basis of going to war and to keep his bank full by protecting his investments in the Saudi oil companies. He should be sent to his ranch in Crawford and never be allowed to show his face again. But you continue to believe that he was a good president but i will stick with "I would rather have a President who screwed his intern than screwed his entire nation."

Philip Bryan Thu. Nov. 20, 10:44pm EST#10

Gillian - apologies about the name, i can relate - fightin words when folks call me "phil." Actually, i watch MSNBC - I know what Fox News is going to say, need to get the other side's view as much as it much hurt. Now, back to you saying that President George W. Bush's father said that he is "ashamed" of his son...that is what you said, so please (as hard as i know it is for you) let's stay on point and not veer off into your opinion about the President being a "war monger." Opinions are great, but as you said, let's not spread "rumors" without going to someone's house and getting real knowledge - like about gore.

Branden South Thu. Nov. 20, 10:54pm EST#11

Joe,

I love the Rube Goldberg reference! Don't they have some crazy Rube Goldberg competition each year at (I think) Purdue to see who can come up with the most outlandishly complicated way to perform a very simple task? Anyway, you're right. Too many hands involved in anything will usually foul it up, regardless of which team you root for. Bureaucracy run amok!!

Gillian Myerberg Thu. Nov. 20, 11:03pm EST#12

Philip, I suggest you go to your local book store and pick up every book from both sides and read them and then you will realize what a horrible President he was. He is a war monger, and many people agree with me so it's not just my opinion.

His war crimes etc are the reason for Bush Sr being ashamed of his son. Again, can't reveal my source but I can tell you it is very, very, very credible. Oh and his daughters voted for Obama, so that should tell you something about where your party is headed. Again a very credible source.

Philip Bryan Thu. Nov. 20, 11:31pm EST#13

and, Gillian, you were in the voting booth with the bush daughters? if not, you have only speculation. And, if i may quote, another source on this site, you must realize that just because alot of people rally around an idea and say that the idea is true, i.e. bush is a war monger, that does not mean it is true...

Philip Bryan Thu. Nov. 20, 11:35pm EST#14

not to mention, this thread or any for that matter, is about a great Republican U.S. Senator gaining Pentagon approval to broadcast a football game, so let's not forget the original intent here! Those men and women do not give a rip about Al Gore and his carbon credits, they care about giving every man, woman and child in Iraq the opportunity to engage in this same dialogue, something that they were not free to do under the former regime...and that is something that you cannot put a value on

Philip Bryan Thu. Nov. 20, 11:59pm EST#15

just kidding, wrong thread about military, although my thoughts still stand. headed to the woods now to go hunting, and quit paying attention for a minute. I'm sure Gillian will have something to say about shooting animals and how cruel that is...but it is a necessary activity due to population of deer in the south. but you can rest assured, Gillian, we won't be shooting at just any and everything, it is all about herd management...
