I found this info at a newly discovered conservative blog RightCoastConservative.blogspot.com

Kansas Passes 10th Amendment Resolution SCR-1615

So check it out. We always hear about Texas…. but they are far from the Lone Star when it come to the tenth amendment. (Kansas,Texas & Tennessee are three among many states doing this as a warning to the Federal government, that they are overstepping their Constitutional bounds.) This resolution was introduced last year and is on the table now in the Kanas general session.
Introduced by Sen. Mary Pilcher Cook (R) on February 11, 2009, to cite as a violation of the 10th amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which grants states sovereignty over powers not enumerated to the federal government in the Constitution, compulsory federal legislation that direct states to comply under threat of penalties or loss of federal funding, and to urge such federal legislation be prohibited or repealed.

Kansas Senate Resolution SCR-1615. A forum included was held recently with a panel discussion regarding the proposed Resolution. This Resolution asserts the State’s and the Kansas Citizens’ sovereignty from, and supremacy over, the Federal government under the 10th amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Resolutions like this assert intangibles and have no actual teeth. For that reason, I’m often not fond of these types of things, but I’m making an exception in this case and coming out strongly for it for several reasons.

The ‘Intangibles’ of Resolution SCR-1615 are important because they remind our elected officials that we as Citizens are aware of our enumerated Rights within the Constitution, and that we STILL hold them dear.
We recognize that our Senators and Congressmen and Women have taken solemn oaths to uphold the Constitution and we will hold their feet to the fire on those promises.
It reminds elected officials if they ignore us too long, we reserve the Right to ignore them too.

Very cool. Glad to see more states getting on board with this. A few months ago I heard an interview with Susan Lind (not sure I spelled that right) who is heading up the committee charged with enacting Tennessee's resolution in practical ways. They are trying to set up 'committees of correspondence' with other states that have passed 10th amendment resolutions, much as the founders did before creating the Articles of Confederation. I haven't heard ANYTHING in several months, however.

I am glad to hear his has been passed. Now if only more states would jump on board with this! The only sad part about it, is that so many citizens are unaware of their constitutional rights, and have no idea what this bill even means to them. Now if only we could get American's educated on their Constitutional Rights!

Yeah Josh ~ Susan Lynn is a great state legislator - Here website is here:

Katrina I agree....."so many citizens are unaware of their constitutional rights, and have no idea what this bill even means to them. Now if only we could get American's educated on their Constitutional Rights!"

That's the very reason I try to blog this info every time I see it somewhere.
