A. C. Kleinheider points us to this article in the Flyer - the “exit interview” for Willie Herenton.

In it, he says of Steve Cohen, his opponent  in the race for the 9th District congressional seat:

“I’ve known Cohen for over 30 years. And to be honest with you, he’s an a–hole. Anybody who knows Cohen knows he’s an a–hole.” For that reason, Herenton said he plans to have several fund-raisers in Nashville, site of Cohen’s long service as a state senator.”

Of Harold Ford, Sr. :

“I told him if I saw him downtown, I’d whip his a–. He didn’t show up, either.”

Yeah, that’s what Memphis needs… a Congressman who will threaten to physically attack people that he has a problem with. Come to think of it, in a nutshell that’s pretty much what most of Memphis has come to be like during his tenure as Mayor. Just what we need in Congress.

Don’t say you don’t know what you’re getting if you elect Herenton as your Congressman - this isn’t just “style”. In his own words, Herenton says: “My style is me.”
