Christopher Smith (R-NJ) Votes YES on Cap and Tax

Well, the headline says it all. His line was busy all day...I haven't spoken to a single person around here who supported this preposterous bill and I let him know he betrayed us. He's here on politics4all...I didn't look to see if you can send him a message or not, but if so, why not send him a message? I'm still waiting to hear how Waxman bought his vote.

By a final vote of 219-212, HR 2454, the Cap-and-Tax scheme passed the House.

Eight Republicans switched over to make the final margin possible. These eight are:

Bono Mack

Castle

Kirk

Lance

LoBiondo

McHugh

Reichert

Smith (NJ)

So Smith might be on here, lets see who else is and lets see what we can do to get it thru their heads that they have betrayed our nation. I don't know how Waxman can persuade anyone, the guy is a weasel. It was painful to watch happen.

Now it is up to the Senate. I for one am starting to up my dialogue with my two today.

My only fear is that Obama will push the Senate to use reconciliation on this so that they only need 51 votes, I believe, instead of 60. I will be contacting my senators this week as well...I have little hope. They're as blue as Dems come. That's what we get in Blue Jersey.
