With all the Fox News tea bagging hooplah today, it might be worth it to take a quick look at reality:

A new Gallup Poll finds 48% of Americans saying the amount of federal income taxes they pay is “about right,” with 46% saying “too high” — one of the most positive assessments Gallup has measured since 1956. Typically, a majority of Americans say their taxes are too high, and relatively few say their taxes are too low.

Ouch. Talk about reality intruding on fantasy.

You can actually see Americans being happy about paying their taxes in real time. Just check out Twitter with the hashtag #teaparty. There’s a lot of folks talking about the tea bag protests, and a lot of folks talking about why they pay taxes:

This is the first year I've owed the IRS money, but despite complaining a bit, I'm ok with taxes. I wish they were spent more effectively, of course.

Oh goodie, thanks for giving me the opportunity to point out a democratic tactic in play to alienate the youth from this movement (through pure juvenile humor) , and expose all of this "tea bagging" democratic comments for what they are, an off hand insult.

But as often as you hear (This one was not subtile in what they were going at)the in the MSM you know it is coordinated.

Not sure which definition came first, the video game or the BDSM. But based on either definition it is better to be the teabagger and not the teabagged.

I for one am glad this is leaving a bad taste in liberal mouths, this is how real change happens.

I honestly don't think our current levels of taxation are the problem so much as the inevitable record levels that HAVE to come to pay for all of this government spending.
