EMERGE Montgomery Presidential Debate

Fri. Oct. 31, 01:58pm EST

EMERGE Montgomery hosted a Presidential debate between US Congressman Artur Davis of Alabama representing Senator Barack Obama, and Alabama Representative Cam Ward representing Senator John McCain at the Archives and History Museum in Montgomery on Wednesday night, October 29th.

EMERGE Montgomery is a program of Leadership Montgomery in partnership with the Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce. It is a built-in-network of contacts for 22-40 year olds who currently live in the Montgomery area or are considering Montgomery as a place to live. Their mission is to network, develop professionally, create partnerships, and influence decisions that make Montgomery a desired location for young professionals to live, work, play, and discover.

Politics4All was able to spend some time with both participants of the debate and conducted interviews with each. We also taped the entire debate, and will have that posted as soon as we can. Enjoy the interviews and post your comments.

Great to hear from both candidates, and I think Cam's thoughts on how the social web can be used by public servants at all levels to better serve their constituents is spot on.

Very cool.

Social networking stands like Pres. Reagan saying to the politicians, "Tear Down That Wall!" (Maybe if "The Hoff" would sing "Looking for Freedom" we'd get a faster response!)

Looks good Branden. RTR

Cam Ward Sun. Nov. 02, 12:34pm EST#5

It was a lot of fun. We don't do enough of these events in Alabama politics. The question and answer session from the crowd made it more than just the usual political talk. Also, while we may not agree on the issues, Congressman Davis definitely knows his stuff.
