Our State is living on borrowed time and borrowed money because some of our legislators lack the courage to tackle the tough issues. We know that the issues like education, ethics reform, and economic development are not going to resolve themselves. The time has come for Montgomery to send to the Statehouse a Representative who is in the business of solutions, not soundbites.

I was born and raised here in Montgomery, and I have come home to raise my family and to invest in our city's future. We must begin the hard work of building a Montgomery that our children can come home to, a Montgomery with schools that will educate their children and jobs that will support their families. With your help, we can put our values to work in the Alabama Statehouse.

  • Toggle Elementary and secondary education: Education

Over the past few years we have seen that, when we have invested in education, we received a substantial return on those investments. We must take a long, hard look at where our investments could yield a better return and redirect unnecessary expenditures to proven programs that work. And, to ensure that our investments in education to produce ready results, we must support our teachers by enabling them to maintain control over their classrooms.

  • Toggle Economic policy: Economic Development

We must seek new and innovative ways to bring good, sustainable jobs to our city, while creating an economic environment that will nurture our small businesses. Our State government, in coordination with our city and county governments, played a principal role in bringing Hyundai and many of its suppliers to Montgomery. We must continue to foster a working relationship between our State, city, and county officials to bring new industry to our region, while providing a nurturing environment for the small businesses that are already here and for those that have yet to come.

  • Toggle Politics and government: Ethics Reform

In a time when there is so much distrust of our government, it is critical that we restore trust and confidence to our public offices. We must ensure that the people of District 73 know exactly what business is being conducted in their Statehouse and how that business is getting done. Public officials in this State should be honest about where they get their support and who they are supporting with the influence of their office.
