• Defense policy: National Security

  For over 200 years, America’s security has been thankfully, and thanklessly, provided by our military – be it through active duty, reserves or National Guard. These men and women, and the veterans in our midst represent the first line of protection of our freedoms – both here and abroad. Comparatively speaking, Congress does a lot less in terms of protecting this country, yet gets more in compensation and benefits. That seems wrong to me too. We need to give honor where it’s due, both while our sons and daughters are in uniform, and extend much fuller benefits beyond the end of their service to us.

• State and local government: State and Citizens Rights

  The Federal Government, through a variety of “agencies” and “departments” has made a living out of taking rights and privileges away from the states and their citizens. The United States Constitution guarantees certain rights are reserved for the States and the people. We need give the states back their authority over Federal law within their borders, and people the power to live their lives without interference from Washington.

• Congress: Fiscal Responsibility

  America is a debtor nation, thanks to our "brilliant" political machine on Capitol Hill. Stimulus, TARP, and other indiscrete spending from Washington are bankrupting our children's futures. Let's get a grip, pull up our sleeves, and follow a common sense approach to reducing the deficit by putting people with calculators in Washington, not blank checks. 

• Labor: Employment

  Americans are out of work in record numbers. We must create jobs for the unemployed, not compound the problem by sending American jobs overseas. It’s time to make employment more than a distant goal or theory. It is time to make it a reality. Likewise, America needs to review, and revise, our policy of freely passing out visas to bring people in to America to take American jobs.
